Halifax Cruises

Victorian Elegance In Ontario's' Wine Country

halifax, nova scotia canada

Inviting you to explore one of Canada’s most essential cities, Halifax cruises offer the greatest way to explore the city. You’ll arrive in Halifax’s harbor, one of the world’s largest and deepest harbors. The harbor has proved instrumental in growing Halifax, as hundreds of commercial ships come and go each day. Once your cruise comes to port in the harbor, you’ll head into the city for a day of adventure.

Experience world history

Cruises from Halifax are unique due to the city having a far different past than most other destinations in the Canadian Maritime Provinces. While most other Canadian cities have relied on farming and fishing, this rocky metropolis is found far from any decent fishing areas. While originally settled by the Mi’kmaq First Nation, Halifax rose to prominence in the 1700s English-speaking world for its strategic military position. Colonized by the British, Halifax would become the destination of choice for British soldiers and loyalists after the American Revolutionary War. Today, Halifax has transitioned from its military emphasis to one of trade and travel. Not only will you find massive container ships sailing into its harbors, but Nova Scotia small ship cruises and even smaller tour boats.

Top attractions for Nova Scotia cruises

  • Halifax Citadel National Historic Site. An essential piece of Halifax’s history, Fort George was built on Citadel Hill, the original place where Halifax’s European settlers landed. The fort of today was completed in 1856 and used by the British military. Today, it’s no longer used by the military, but instead showcases the interesting history of Halifax.
  • Peggy’s Cove. One of the most popular visits for cruise to Nova Scotia, Peggy’s Cove is a small rural community situated along the seashore. Here, you’ll find the Peggy’s Cove Lighthouse and seaside views along a beautiful, natural setting.
    Lunenburg. Similar to Peggy’s Cove,
  • Lunenburg is a small fishing community. It’s Old Town is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, famed for both beauty and being one of the earliest European settlements in North America.
