THE CHARLES W. STOCKEY CENTRE FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS

On July 18th, 2003 the Bobby Orr Hall of Fame and Charles W. Stockey Centre celebrated their grand opening. The center is located along the waterfront overlooking the Georgian Bay and features a wide variety of entertainment options from live music and shows to art classes. The Charles W. Stockey Centre is the perfect place to plan an evening out in Parry Sound

BOBBY ORR HALL OF FAME

Located alongside the Stockey Centre for the Performing Arts the Bobby Orr Hall of Fame is an interactive sports heritage museum paying tribute to hometown hockey legend, Bobby Orr, along with other exceptional athletes with ties to Parry Sound.

TOWER HILL HERITAGE GARDEN

A public display garden unique to Northern Ontario, Tower Hill Heritage Garden is nestled amongst the trees atop the hill overlooking Parry Sound on Georgian Bay. Constructed by the Ontario Forestry Branch in the late 1920’s, the municipally owned garden features a network of original flagstone paths connecting rock gardens, goldfish pond and raised pedestal sundial, all enhanced by flowering shrubs and perennials.

THE MUSEUM ON TOWER HILL

Located in the center of Georgian Bay Biosphere Reserve, the Museum on Tower Hill is situated on the same property as the Heritage Gardens and Tower Hill Lookout. The museum features permanent exhibits about Parry Sound’s past including shipwrecks, early life working in the logging trade and how farms were created on a landscape covered in rock.

Get to know Perry Sound, Ontario

Discovered by Captain Henry Bayfield in the 19th century, the town was named in honor of the Arctic explorer Sir William Edward Parry.
