Buffalo

Buffalo NY Cruises

Buffalo New York is located directly across from Canada, on the shores of Lake Erie in Western New York at the head of the Niagara River. The city’s beautiful park landscapes were designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, also famous for designing the interconnected parkways and greenscapes of Central Park and Prospect Park in New York.  Buffalo is also filled with so many different architectural and historical treasures like the Erie Basin Marina, the Frank Lloyd Wright’s Darwin D. Martin House Complex, and Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural National Historic Site.  Be Sure to taste a Buffalo classic known as the “Best Wings in the World” at the famous  Anchor Bar, the home of the original Buffalo wing invented in 1964. Of course your visit would not be complete without visiting the region’s most iconic sight: the Niagara Falls.  From beautiful parks and botanical gardens, to arts and culture, amazing attractions, first class dining and nightlife Buffalo New York has plenty for all to do and see!

BUFFALO AND ERIE COUNTY BOTANICAL GARDENS
Located in South Park The Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens are dedicated to the appreciation for plant life. This garden was created by Frederick Law Olmsted (designer of New York’s famous Central Park) for the community to enjoy and learn about living plant collections. The gardens also feature a breathtaking conservatory designed by Lord & Burnham, made from tri domed glass, steel and wood.

Planned and built in the first decade of the 20th century by the well known architect Frank Lloyd Wright, the Darwin D Martin House is considered one of his greatest works depicting how urban living was viewed by one of the world’s most forward-thinking architects. A fine example of the Prairie House, this historic home has all of Wright’s trademark features, from the central focus on the internal hearth to the cantilevered roof,  receiving National Historic Landmark status in 1986.  As one of the most-visited attractions in all of Buffalo, visitors will also enjoy iconic art glass produced by the architect himself.
